White Kisses Great Dane Rescue is committed to rescuing, rehabbing and rehoming Great Danes in Texas and surrounding states. While we do rescue all types of full-blooded Great Danes as well as Mastiffs and Dane/Mastiff mixes, our passion and #1 priority are the saving special needs Double Merle Great Danes including deaf, blind and other health issues. We promote Double Merle awareness, responsible pet ownership, animal identification (micro-chipping/ID tags) and the importance of spay/neuter.
As of November 22, 2014 we are a non-profit 501(c)3 Great Dane rescue operating solely on donations and the work of volunteers and fosters. Every donation helps us provide veterinary care, training, housing, food and all other needs of the Great Danes in our care. We strive to place each Great Dane in the home that best fits the dog and family. Placements are not taken lightly.

White Kisses Recap 2021
Dear Friends of White Kisses,
You may be wondering what we've been up to this year at White Kisses Great Dane Rescue, besides rescuing Danes.
Since last Giving Tuesday, when we explained we wanted to be able to rescue, house and provide for even more Danes, we have been able to begin transforming our owner’s new property into a place for the Danes in our rescue. The owners were able to find a spot with a home and a barn, which they have been diligently working on for months. We are so thankful for the hard work of Tony and Dusty Meil and their sons! There are yards for dogs and shelter/shade too.
One of the things we still would like to have is an area for our medical cases, pregnant Danes and puppies under the age of three months. This is our new goal for 2022 and what we will fundraise for on Giving Tuesday this year. These medical cases etc. must be housed in an area separate from the general area where we keep our healthy rescue Danes. It also needs to be something we can sanitize as needed, have electrical capabilities and running water. We believe it may take us up to $10,000 to accomplish this goal alone.
Our Giving Tuesday post on Facebook will address our intake/adoption numbers this year, number of medical cases and how many Danes we have still had to turn down over this year. It’s been a wild year!
We are extremely grateful for all the support from our former adopters, fosters and friends!! We could not accomplish anything without your generous support. We need you to help us reach our fundraising goals this year. Please donate if you can and please share this note/our giving Tuesday posts with all your friends and contacts.

What is a Double Merle?
Double Merles are 100% preventable!
White Great Danes are a result of bad breeding practices, most commonly known as spot x spot breeding. This could be harl x merle, harl x harl, merle x merle, any quin x quin, any quin x merle breeding. When we say quin x quin, we are speaking of harlequins, merlequins, brindlequins, fawnequins, etc.
No White Great Dane should ever be bred! With any spot x spot breeding there's always a 25% chance of Double Merles. Learn more about Double Merles here!
